Pipe & Cable Location
Pipe Scan knows how to locate pipes – and cables too. We are specialists at pipe and cable location, and use the latest and innovative equipment including EMF Locators, GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), traceable CCTV cameras & traceable fibre rods. We can select from two types of electronic locators, dependant on the type of service needed.
Our pipe and cable locators use EMF (Electromagnetic Field) technology. There are many ways to create an electromagnetic field around the area you wish to examine, and the most accurate is to clamp around a known point or make a direct connection. Using a receiver, our Pipe Scan technicians will then trace the alignment of the known point or direct connection.
These locators are able to locate all pipes and cables hidden deep beneath the surface. They will find the problems discovered in a pipe inspection, as well as detecting buried and hidden water pipes, power cables, sewer lines and major conduits.
All Pipe Scan cameras have transmitters which enable underground location using our Sonde locator. This can identify, very accurately, the problems that have been observed using the cameras. It also lets the client know at what depth the problem is situated.
